Knowledge Futures Symposium 2026
During this hybrid event, we will explore the rapidly evolving 21st-century knowledge ecosystem through the lenses of Knowledge Equity, Knowledge Security, and Digital & AI Ethics. As technological innovation accelerates and societal norms shift, the symposium will examine how knowledge is created, valued, protected, and shared, while confronting the structural inequalities and emerging risks that shape global access to information.
In an era defined by transformative technologies, geopolitical uncertainty, and digital disruption, the symposium will address critical questions, including:
• Knowledge Equity: How knowledge shapes humanity and society, and how we can democratise access, amplify underrepresented voices, and foster more inclusive systems of knowledge creation
• Knowledge Security: The growing threats to knowledge systems, including misinformation, disinformation, and attacks on intellectual integrity and digital infrastructures, alongside strategies to ensure trust, resilience and accountability
• Digital & AI Ethics: The impact of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, on knowledge production, ownership, trust, and intellectual property, and the ethical frameworks needed to govern them responsibly
Across these themes, we will also explore:
• The decentralisation and decolonisation of knowledge production
• Digital inclusion, accessibility, and closing the global knowledge divide
• The balance between openness and protection in knowledge ecosystems
• The role of institutions, communities, and technologies in shaping trustworthy knowledge futures
Together, these discussions will challenge existing power structures, highlight opportunities for more equitable participation, and define pathways toward a more secure, ethical, and inclusive global knowledge landscape.
