REDS 2015
Friday 18th September 2015 University of Sheffield – Researcher Education & Development Conference. This inaugural conference was timely, and in-line with recent sector calls for the professionalisation of the researcher developer role. Those who develop research staff and students, were invited to strengthen their links to evidence-based practice and the impact agenda, by coming together to share and discover the scholarly work that underpins robust and innovative education of research staff and students.
Programme: The conference opened with keynote perspectives delivered by Dr Steve Hutchinson, researcher development consultant and author of Enhancing the Doctoral Experience: A Guide for Supervisors and their International Students, and was followed by paper presentations from colleagues in education, career, and learning & development disciplines who have a research interest across aspects of researcher development. Closing remarks were be offerred by Dr Tony Bromley, Associate Editor International Journal for Researcher Development, and ended in 5 pillars for an 'extraordinary future for researcher development'.
