Location/Travel

The 2017 MeCCSA Conference will be held on the city centre campus of the University of Leeds: University of Leeds, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS2 9JT

The conference is being held in three locations within the University of Leeds.

Registration, publishers’ stands and refreshments are in Parkinson Court South (in the Parkinson Building by the Main Entrance).

Conference panels, roundtables and keynotes are in the School of Music and the School of Media and Communication (Clothworkers' Building North). All venues are within walking distance of one another and there will be signage and conference helpers around to assist you.

You can access a map with the above three locations highlighted here: MeCCSA map

Off-campus events:

The Pub Quiz on Wednesday 11 January will be held at the Victoria Hotel pub which is a 10 minute walk from the reception/beer festival (and serves food if you wanted to arrive early - there are also other options nearby). This historical building dates back to 1865 and well known for its vibrant atmosphere and Victorian features (28 Great George Street, LS1 3DL).

The Conference Dinner on Thursday 12 January takes place at the Sukhothai Restaurant (15 South Parade, LS1 5QS), just below the Headrow (a main city centre street where the Town Hall is located). This is a 10-15 minute walk from the campus and close to many city centre hotels.

The campus is within walking distance of all city centre amenities, including rail and bus stations as well as shopping, theatres and all the cultural attractions of a regional centre. The campus is also just a short drive away from Leeds Bradford airport and only 10 miles from Wharfedale and the gateway to the wonderful Yorkshire Dales National Park. Have a look at the Visit Leeds website for a comprehensive guide to how to make the most of your trip to our city and region.

Comprehensive travel details and an interactive campus map can be found on the University 'Find Us' web page. Parking at the University is limited, but if you are a blue badge holder, you can find details on how to book University parking in the 'find us' pages.
