Abigail is the Lord Mayor Elect of Leeds City, making her the first African to hold the prestigious position in 130 years.
Abigail is an Elected Member in Leeds City Council. She’s Scrutiny Chair for Infrastructure, Investment & Inclusive Growth, Lead Member for Faith & Religion, Chair of the Hate Crime Strategic Board, and Food Champion.
Abigail arrived in England from Nigeria as an international student and holds a Master’s degree from the University of Leeds in 2001.
Abigail is an athlete and England Athletics Coach specialising in sprinting.
