Call for Papers: ITEA Annual Conference and ITEA Annual School 2024

ITEA is pleased to announce that the ITEA Annual Conference in Honor of Richard Arnott and the ITEA Annual School on Transportation Economics for 2024 will be hosted by the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS), University of Leeds, UK. The ITEA Annual School will be held on June 24-26, 2024. The ITEA Annual Conference will be held on June 26-28, 2024. The 2024 Conference is dedicated to the memory of Richard Arnott, a prominent transportation scholar who passed away last year.

Professor Andrew Smith is the chair of the local organizing committee. He and his colleagues are committed to organizing a vibrant and successful conference.

The aim of the ITEA Annual School is to provide young researchers as well as practitioners with a high-quality introduction to academic research on transportation economics, including many recent advances in the field. The School’s program consists of a series of lectures and tutorials conducted by some of the most prominent researchers in transportation economics. In addition, the students are given the opportunity to present their own work at the Conference.

The aim of the ITEA Annual Conference is to promote scientific excellence in the field of transportation economics and to provide a forum for scientific exchange. Research presented at the conference covers both theory and empirical work, including all transport modes and a wide range of research methodologies. In addition to dedication of the conference to Richard Arnott, the program will include a special session covering topics related to Professor Arnott’s research contributions.

In addition, the program will include a session hosted by the Special Interest Group E2 of the World Conference on Transportation Research Society (WCTRS). That group’s focus is Transport Pricing and Economic Regulation, and the topic of the session will be “Competition in the Railway Industry.” Submission of papers on this topic is encouraged.
