Accessible city of Leeds guide
If you are travelling from the UK:
- Take the train to Leeds, or a National Express or Megabus coach to Leeds Bus Station.
- The train and bus stations are in the heart of the city, and buses and Ubers can take you to your hotel or the conference venue. The bus stops and Uber pickup points are right outside the stations – ask a member of staff for directions if you are unsure.
If you are travelling from outside of the UK:
- The nearest airport is Leeds-Bradford, which is small but does accommodate direct and connecting flights. A taxi will take you to central Leeds in about 30 minutes, or public transport takes under an hour (check Google maps for your route).
- The next nearest airport is Manchester, which accommodates direct flights from many international destinations. Connection to Leeds is best via train (60-90 minutes; book in advance or on the day at www.thetrainline.com).
- Connection from London to Leeds takes a little longer but is also straightforward. We recommend you fly into London Heathrow Airport or London City Airport, then take the LNER train from King's Cross Station to Leeds. It takes roughly 2 hours 15 minutes to get from London to Leeds and is cheapest to book in advance.
- From London Heathrow Airport to King's Cross, take the Piccadilly Line (Tube). The line runs directly from the airport to King's Cross.
- From London City Airport to King's Cross, take DLR Line then change to Northern Line at Bank Station. The Northern Line will take you to King's Cross.
Accommodation
There are a wide range of hotels in the Leeds city centre at a range of price points, as well as other types of accommodation. We suggest booking early to ensure availability.
