Dijkgraaf-Witten Theory, Tensor Categories, and Applications
This small workshop is dedicated to revisiting Dijkgraaf-Witten Topological Quantum Field Theory (TQFT), with a focused look at some of its foundational concepts, including the underpinning tensor categories. We will also discuss different perspectives, generalizations, future directions and applications, of Dijkgraaf-Witten Theory, including::
- Extended Dijkgraaf-Witten TQFTs
- Defect Dijkgraaf-Witten TQFTs
- Homotopy $n$-type extended TQFT
- Homotopy Quantum Field Theories.
A primary focus will be placed on the implementation of these theories in Topological Quantum Computation (TQC) models.
Workshop format
The workshop Dijkgraaf-Witten Theory, Tensor Categories, and Applications will be organised around research talks and discussion sessions led by:
- Christoph Schweigert (Hamburg) Boundary conditions for 2-dimensional Dijkgraaf-Witten Theory.
- Peter Huston (Leeds). ¿What is so special about groups?

Everyone is welcome.
If you would like to participate, please do contact the organisers as soon as possible. Funding is limited.
