Location, travel and expenses

Venue of the workshop
All the sessions of the workshop will take place in the MALL of the School of Mathematics which is in the Mathematics building of the University of Leeds. Here is a link to the campus map, here you can find a pdf of the campus map (the Mathematics building is the number 84 in the map).

Travelling to the University of Leeds
Here is some information on how to reach Leeds once you are in the UK. Leeds has excellent transport links, so we we would encourage all participants to travel by public transport as parking on campus is very limited.

Accommodation and expenses
In early July Leeds is home to the International Medieval Congress (IMC), one of the Europe’s largest forum in medieval studies. It is difficult to find cheap hotels in that period of the year. We therefore strongly suggest you to arrange your own accommodation as soon as possible. There is no registration fee to attend the conference (but there is space limitation).

  • If you are a member of the EPSRC Network Plus and plan to make an expense claim, please send an email to L19EEDs@gmail.com before May, 30th 2019 (after this date we cannot guarantee an accommodation) with a motivated estimate of your expenses;
  • If you are not a member of the EPSRC Network Plus, then you will have to arrange your trip and accommodation yourself.
  • There is limited funding to help support the attendance of PhD students. Interested PhD students should send an email to L19EEDs@gmail.com before May 30th, 2019, motivating their application for financial support.

Invited speakers and participants supported by the EPSRC Network Plus will be accommodated at

Hotel Ibis Leeds Centre
Marlborough Street 23
LS1 4PB
LEEDS

Reimbursement
Speakers and EPSRC Network Plus participants are asked to pay for their travel and subsistence expenses, and claim them back for reimbursement. This should be done using the provided claim form (from the University of Leeds or Manchester) to be returned at the indicated address along with all original receipts. We have arranged for the hotel bills to be directly covered by the Leeds School of Maths.

Refreshments
Lunch and break-time refreshments will be provided each day. These will be served in the common room on the Level 8 of the School of Mathematics (close to the MALL) at times indicated on the programme. Evening meals will not be provided.

Conference Dinner
On Thursday 4th July, we will have a conference dinner at Thai Edge, where you can choose among four different menus. The restaurant is 8 min (by foot) far from the School of Mathematics.

Should you have any further queries, please send an email to L19EEDs@gmail.com
