The congress will take place across two venues: Cloth Hall Court, located in Leeds city centre close to Leeds Railway Station, and the Michael Sadler Building, located on the University of Leeds campus.

Approaching Quebec Street from Leeds Railway Station.

Quebec Street is off City Square, which is in front of Leeds railway station (the station building is behind the Queens Hotel).

If you arrive by train, after going through the ticket barriers don't go straight out of the main doors in front of you, but turn left and then walk down to the Aire Street and City Square exit. When you exit here, Quebec St is directly in front of you between two large buildings (see photo). Watch out for fast cyclists.

Une fois sorti par là, Quebec St se trouve juste en face de vous, entre deux grands immeubles (voir photo). Faites attention aux cyclistes qui roulent vite.

University of Leeds and the Michael Sadler Building

The University of Leeds campus is situated to the north of the city centre:

It is a 20-minute walk from Cloth Hall Court (slightly uphill).

There are several routes but the easiest is to walk up Park Row and Cookridge St to Woodhouse Lane. Keep going up the hill past Leeds Beckett University. After 5 minutes you will arrive at the University of Leeds campus. Look out for the tower of the Parkinson Building (see photo below).

The 24 bus (direction Holt Park) goes directly from the back of Cloth Hall Court (Infirmary St, opposite Pret a Manger) to the University (Parkinson Building/Court/Steps). The bus stop is called City Square E.

Journeys cost £2.50 and you can pay on the bus with a bank card - no need to buy a ticket in advance.

There are also many other buses to the Parkinson Building from the city centre from the stop Headrow L (on Albion St, opposite McDonalds). This might be closer to where you are staying.

You can pick up a white taxi from the back of Leeds station or various places in the city centre. Uber is very popular too or you can ring Veezu Taxis on 00 44 113 269 1558. The cost of journeys will vary from 6 to 12 pounds and you can usually pay by card. Ask the driver to take you to the University of Leeds Parkinson steps.

Continuez à monter la colline en passant devant l’université Leeds Beckett. Au bout de 5 minutes, vous arriverez sur le campus de l’université de Leeds. Il existe également de nombreux autres bus desservant le Parkinson Building depuis le centre-ville, au départ de l’arrêt Headrow L (Albion Street, en face de McDonald’s). Cet arrêt est peut-être plus proche de votre logement.

Travel / Accès

Travelling by air / Voyager en avion

The closest airports are Leeds Bradford Airport and Manchester Airport, located approximately 7 miles (12 km) and 54 miles (90 km) from the University respectively. Both airports are served by regular flights from many cities in Europe and beyond.

N.B. For those flying, Manchester Airport may be cheaper than Leeds Bradford Airport, which has fewer direct international flights (but many connections with KLM via Amsterdam). There is a direct train from Manchester Airport to Leeds (approximately 1 hour 40 minutes).

Les aéroports les plus proches sont ceux de Leeds Bradford et de Manchester, situés respectivement à environ 12 km et 90 km de l'Université. Les deux aéroports sont desservis par des vols réguliers en provenance de nombreuses villes d'Europe et d'ailleurs.

À noter : pour ceux qui prennent l'avion, il peut être moins cher de voler vers l'aéroport de Manchester que vers celui de Leeds Bradford, qui propose moins de vols internationaux directs (mais de nombreuses correspondances avec KLM via Amsterdam). Il existe un train direct entre l'aéroport de Manchester et Leeds (environ 1 h 40).

For those travelling by Eurostar, there are regular direct trains from London King's Cross to Leeds (approximately 2 hours 15 minutes). King's Cross is adjacent to London St Pancras International.
