Travel time variability

The lecture covers the microeconomic theory underlying the quantification and valuation of travel time variability. The theory is motivated with empirical examples and some discussion of the physics of travel flow.

Mogens Fosgerau is a mathematical economist at the University of Copenhagen. His research has dealt with discrete choice theory and econometrics, travel time variability and scheduling, traffic congestion, urban form, the value of travel time, route choice modelling and general transportation economics. He has also published in mathematics and econophysics. Together with Erik Verhoef, he was founding editor of the Economics of Transportation. Awards include an ERC Advanced Grant and several other large research grants. He is active in the Danish transport and climate policy debate.
