- Abstract
- This talk introduces the notion of wen knots, motivated by the study of ribbon torus-links in a 4-dimensional space. We explore their relationship with extended welded knots and prove that wen knots form a proper subset of extended welded knots, with the complementary subset consisting of welded knots up to horizontal mirror reflections. We establish a complete characterization of extended welded knots based on the parity of their number of wens. This work contributes to understanding the connection between welded knots and ribbon torus-links, offering a potential new viewpoint to understand the non-injectivity of Satoh's Tube map.
